Protecting marble against etching and staining takes effort, but only a little. Here are a few tips to ensure your marble countertops look their best for many years.
SEAL
Sealing repels staining agents but doesn't make it stainproof. We
recommend re-sealing every 12 months.
PROTECT
Vinegar, citrus, and tomato will etch your stone, so don't let
anything citrus or acidic sit on the stone.
CLEAN
Avoid using acidic or abrasive cleaners. Vacuum or sweep up loose
dirt and regularly use a damp mop or sponge. Any over-the-counter products that
state "safe for granite, marble, and quartzite" are recommended,
along with the instructions below for everyday cleaning. If residue is left on
top, use a flat-blade razor to pop off residue instead of using a harsh
abrasive. Magic Erasers (soft white side) are also great for removing residue.
EVERYDAY CLEANING RECOMMENDATION
There is NO warranty against staining and etching as it is
a natural stone; proper care and maintenance will ensure the longevity of your
beautiful countertop selection.
1.Fill a spray bottle with warm water and add a tablespoon of
gentle, non-abrasive dish soap. Don't use anything with acid or lemon juice.
2.Spray the counter with a warm dish soap solution
3.Wipe the soapy water off the counter with a hot, wet dishcloth.
4.Dry with an absorbent towel: Rub the countertop dry and buff it
with an absorbent, soft towel.
SPOT TREATMENT
To remove stubborn stains, use a poultice paste. Spread it onto
the stain, then cover it with plastic wrap sealed with painter's tape. Once dry
(12 to 24 hours), scrape the paste off and wipe with a damp cloth. For deep-set
stains, you may need to reapply the paste.
